BAKED VANILLA CAKE DONUT

Yield:

12 donuts

INGREDIENTS:

Baked Vanilla Donuts:

• 2 cups All-Purpose Flour, sifted

• 2 tsp Baking Powder

• 1 tsp Salt

• ¾ cup Buttermilk

• ¾ cup Sugar King Value Refined Sugar

• 2 large Eggs, lightly beaten

• 2 tbsp Butter, melted

• 2 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste

Vanilla Icing:

• 2 cups Sugar King Confectioner’s Powdered Sugar

• 1 tsp Vanilla Bean Paste

• 2 tbsp Milk

• Sugar King Baker’s Food Coloring Gel, as desired

INSTRUCTIONS:

For Baked Vanilla Donut:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a donut pan with cooking spray.

  2. In a bowl, combine the sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well combined.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, Sugar King Value Refined Sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla bean paste. Mix until well combined.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three additions. Mix just until combined. Do not overmix.

  5. Transfer the batter to a piping bag and fill each donut cavity about two-thirds full.

  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the donuts spring back when lightly touched and a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with a few crumbs.

  7. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for 5 to 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack and cool completely before decorating.

For Vanilla Icing:

  1. Combine the Sugar King Confectioner’s Powdered Sugar and vanilla bean paste in a bowl.

  2. Add the milk a few drops at a time and mix until smooth. Adjust the amount of milk as needed until the icing reaches a thick but pourable consistency.

  3. Add Sugar King Baker’s Food Coloring Gel as desired.

  4. Pipe or drizzle the icing over the cooled donuts.

  5. Add sprinkles or other decorations immediately while the icing is still wet.
